Bringing Hope Through Education: KurramWelfare Home’s Success in Enrolling 10,000Children in Schools

Kurram welfare Home with the support of Voluntary Service Overseas VSO /UK.aid has implemented a project entitled as “Back to School “in district Quetta Baluchistan.

Through this project, Kurram Welfare Home has made a remarkable impact by successfully enrolling 10,000 children, including 100 refugee girls, into formal and non-formal schools in Quetta, Balochistan. Many of these children had never attended school due to financial struggles, lack of documentation, and cultural barriers especially for girls.

Through community outreach, awareness sessions, and collaboration with local schools, Kurram Welfare Home convinced families to prioritize education. The inclusion of girls in equal proportion was a significant achievement, challenging traditional norms and empowering young girls with the right to education.

One of the beneficiaries, 10-year-old Fatima, shared her excitement:

“I always wanted to go to school, but my parents couldn’t afford it. Now, I can learn and dream of becoming a teacher.”

Her story reflects the transformation this campaign brought to refugee families.

This initiative not only gave children a chance at a better future but also strengthened the community’s awareness of the importance of education. Moving forward, Kurram Welfare Home aims to expand its efforts, ensuring that even more refugee children, especially girls, gain access to quality education.
